One of my wife's longtime friends, who was a bridesmaid in our wedding, had a seizure/stroke on Sunday (I'm not sure which as I'm getting conflicting reports), and has been in a coma since then. We don't really know what the prognosis is. This is very distressing for my wife, obviously - she's been debating whether to fly back to Hawaii to visit, but right now she wonders if that will even be possible since she's not family. The friend's name is Kristi. We knew for a while that she'd had some sort of neurological problems and that this sort of thing could potentially happen at any time - she had surgery last year to remove some sort of blood clot in her brain, and she seemed to recover from that just fine, but who knows if another one could have built up or whatnot.

Anyway, please pray for Kristi.

Hey, so I forgot to reply to this thread with an update, but Kristi came out of the coma a week or so after my original post. Last I heard, she was still getting her brain functions back. So my wife hasn't actually been able to call and talk to her yet. But I believe she's on the road to recovery.

Excellent! Glad to hear.
