I heard on the radio this morning that Johnny Cash died. I think he deserves a giant moment of silence.

Yes what a man!  I have been listening to his recent albums, the american recordings, I believe he is truly one of the best  and will be missed sorely.  He was an influence to everyone from Bono to some of the latest "one hit wonders"

He is really dead?  I find that kind of weird, just because he has been around for so long.  You kind of start to think of these people as always being there.  I haven't really heard much of his music, but I was reading an article about this new music video of his, which was all about aging and mortality.  It sounded pretty powerful.

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:

Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.

Chuck Norris can divide by zero.

Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

I never really got into Johnny Cash (didn't like his voice), but I do have to applaud him for not giving a rip about genres and covering whatever the heck he felt like, and in the few cases I actually was able to hear, actually making it work ("Hurt", for example). Much like the Beatles or Bob Dylan, even though I'm not really familiar with Johnny's music, I do appreciate the influence he had on artists who came after him.

And "The Wanderer" has grown on me. Somewhat.

The brilliance of "The Wanderer"- and the masterstroke of the entire Zooropa album- is that that song is performed by a different voice than the other songs. But I digress.
