Save Your Self Lyrics
Stabbing Westward

Your whole life is empty and
you hate to face this world alone.
So your searching for an angel
someone who can make you whole.

I can not save you.
I can't even save myself.
So just save yourself.

I know that you've been damaged
you soul has suffered such abuse.
But I am not your saviour
I am just as f**ked as you.

I can not save you.
I can't even save myself.
So just save yourself.

Please don't take pity on me.
Please don't take pity on me.
Please don't take pity on me.
Please don't take pity on me.

My life is a nightmare and
my soul is fractured to the bone.
But if i must be lonely
I think I'd rather be alone.

You can not save me.
You can't even save yourself.
I can not save you.
I can't even save myself.
Save yourself.

So just save yourself.

So, what do you think?

A friend said that this song was mocking Jesus...

...after reading the full lyric, I'm not sure though...

Your thoughts?

Interesting.

I don't see any indication that this song is from the perspective of Jesus; it looks to me like it's probably one person talking to another. It's simliar to when Dave Matthews sings, "I am no Superman/ I have no answers for you."

Of course, the message falters with the bit about saving yourself, but no, I don't think it's mocking Christ.

Its too ambiguous to tell.  I don't think so, though.  Its sounds like two angry, hopeless people in a dialogue, to me.

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:

Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.

Chuck Norris can divide by zero.

Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Two hopeless people conversing, with one offering the other some rather empty sentiments of hope.
