Does anyone know any free sheet music software that I can use to type up my own compositions?  I googled but couldn't find anything without severe limitations.

I need this for an assignment.

Thanks.

Finale Notepad will probably meet your needs and is free.

Sibelius is a bit more high-end, but costs money.

Mind if I ask what the assignment is?

Finale Notepad just stopped offering itself for free I think.

Completely? I seem to recall the "free" version being limited features, only good for so many months, and other such "catch"s anyway.

I went to find a download link for it since i used to use it before i got sibelius, and couldn't find a non-pay version. Side-note, my neighbor is one of the head designers of sibelius.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

This is for the arts supplement of a college app.  There are certain schools that I think might be into artsy stuff like composition.  My supplement already contains some of classical piano performances, and I thought I'd like to throw in something unexpected and different, like my mini rock-opera.
