High Violet is by far my most anticipated release of the year (until Radiohead is conformed anyways), so I figured I'd make a separate thread for it instead of gushing in all the other ones. Release date is May 11th.
Alligator was The National's 3rd album but was their first major breakthrough, featuring anthems such as "Lit Up", "Abel", and "Mr. November" . The follow-up, Boxer, was much more elegant and subtle, featuring an elegant urban atmosphere best demonstrated by tracks like "Fake Empire" and "Slow Show". I highly recommend both if you've yet to hear them. Boxer is in my top 3 albums of the last decade.
