If you are writing any poems, short stories, or full length novels let us know!
I am writing a Scfi short storie for a writing contest i enter every year. haven't won yet, but I am hoping this year is the year! I always really hate the stories that win, but maybe thats cause they aren't mine. =D

i have been writing a full length Fantasy book for a few years now. currently, its 245 pages and 53000 words.

I'm halfway done with album reviews of Daniel Lanois and David Bowie.

I'm writing a research paper for school about Flannery O'Connor.

And I'm constantly kicking around ideas for short stories, though I never get around to getting much work done on any of them.

Good topic.

I have a few reviews percolating, as well as the ubiquitous short paper or two for classes.

I have a couple ideas for either long short stories or short novels, but I haven't really gotten anything solid down yet. Given how busy I am, these ideas will probably stay as text files in my 'Notes to Self' folder until I have some spare time (meaning never)

I'm writing a "brief writing" for my English Comp class. The assignment was to find two opinion essays about the same topic, then summarize them and give me response. It took me forever (who woulda thunk?) to find two gun control opinion essays. I went through like 30-some pages of google results to find them. I picked gun control since its come up on the phorum recently...

I am also trying to think of stupid, funny, and completely random ideas for our (me and Harenil's) silly home videos. If that counts as writing.

Finally finished my Bowie review. I wrote a two-page analysis of the album, read through it, hated it, deleted it, and started the whole thing from scratch. Anyone else ever do that?

I don't think that I'd ever do that... it's too much work Wink . I would probably make extensive changes if it was an important essay for school or something.

my book is three parts. I started the second part first since that is the most important. I have been working a little one the first part though. Its ten pages and needs a good delete. Sad

I recently scrapped my entire essay for my english comp and wrote a new one.  I'm really proud of the results, though, even though it was more work.  I think if you don't like it, rewrite it!

Oh, I gotta add about my book, which BTW Harenil is a major character in. I have a load of names to choose from in my book, but Harenil has gotta be the coolest. Anyways. Its sorta a Lotrish fantasy. the main similarities have gotta be the Elves and Orcs. I guess it has a similar mood to it, but other than that, its fairly original. I took little tidbits from other stuff(Star Trek, Star Wars, Redwall, Wheel of Time, The Bible {great for that kind of stuff}, as well as other sources.) But only noticeable if you pay close attention. i won't give away the storyline just yet, but I will say It is more involved with other peoples, there are very few Humans, which alot of peopl don't like. Sad  Personally, I think since we see Humans every day, we need something that is different, something that................................ I dunno........

Later!

hmm... what a question...

well. . .

i refuse to give away many details . . .
because you are all far too talented and can easily snatch up my plot line and write something better around it . . .

but in the way of writing i have the following "in the works":

three novels
two novel trilogies
four collections of essays
three screenplays
a concept album
five collections of poetry
uncountable reviews
numerous interviews/artist features

i used to keep better tabs on these projects, but they have overrun my capabilities...

hopefully on of them will see the light of day somehow...

peace . . .
love . . .
bdg . . .

I'm interested in reading this chair story.

I have several ideas of things I want to write but alas, I never really flesh out the ideas and work on them. I've started a couple but abandoned them shortly afterwards.  [_[

My main trouble in writing is coming up with a topic! I can never seem to think of a good one. So, in desperation, I turn to something completely random, as in the chair story.

I wrote a couple large papers last year: one 11-pager on the Large Milkweed Bug (Oncopeltus Fasciatus), and one 7-page paper on globalization and world technology.

Part of it involved observations and analysis, not just 11 straight pages of writing...

So, would you like to hear about the feeding patterns of the large milkweed bug (Oncopeltus fasciatus) and their relationship to gregariousness?

I will admit, the paper on globalization was much more interesting to write and read.

You really should post that paper about the bug. Sometimes I'm bored and like a good technical read about important things.

Call me crazy, but I read the entire thing.  Sad ending.

BTW, how do you share documents to the internet like that?  Is it safe?  Do you have to have a fixed IP?

Yes, I have a fixed IP. The document is on my computer in the wwwroot directory and I use Microsoft's IIS to allow others to access it. It's not very 'safe' at all, since IIS has security holes the way a seive has regular holes, but for allowing others to access my documents that I don't care who sees, it's perfectly fine. And since I don't have to have a domain, you have to know my IP to see it.

I'm sorry you tortured yourself by reading the whole thing, but now you know more about milkweed bugs than you will ever need to know, probably Smiley

That maybe so, but it was far more humorous than I ever expected from a milkweed bug paper.

I should just copy my entire \Documents\Classwork directory to my wwwroot directory at this rate Wink

And if the links don't work, try again when I (and my computer) am awake.
