The booted:
Pablo Honey Thinking About You How Do You?
The Bends Bulletproof Sulk
OK Computer Electioneering Lucky
Kid A Treefingers
Amnesiac Morning Bell/Amnesiac
Hail to the Thief Scatterbrain A Wolf At the Door (sorry Josh) We Suck Young Blood (happy Josh?)
Since HTTT has the most tracks, I took down three as Wolf and WSYB tied. It seems fair enough, as much as I love Wolf. Amnesiac had a clear losing track, with everything else tied at one, so I could really only take one off for that album.
Anyway, the remaining:
Pablo Honey 7 tracks You Creep Stop Whispering Anyone Can Play Guitar Ripcord Lurgee Blow Out
The Bends 8 tracks Planet Telex The Bends High and Dry Fake Plastic Trees Nice Dream Just My Iron Lung Street Spirit
OK Computer 9 tracks Airbag Paranoid Android Subterranean Homesick Alien Exit Music (for a film) Let Down Karma Police Climbing Up the Walls No Surprises The Tourist
Kid A 8 tracks Everything In Its Right Place Kid A The National Anthem How to Disappear Completely Optimistic Idioteque Morning Bell Motion Picture Soundtrack
Amnesiac 9 tracks Pact Like Sardines... Pyramid Song Pull/Pulk Revolving Doors You and Whose Army? I Might Be Wrong Knives Out Dollars & Cents Like Spinning Plates Life in a Glasshouse
Hail to the Thief 10 tracks 2+2=5 Sit Down Stand Up Sail to the Moon Backdrifts Go To Sleep Where I End and You Begin The Gloaming There There A Punchup at a Wedding Myxomatosis
Let's just see how voting goes on this one. I'll see if we can't eliminate at least two per album, but that really depends on being able to do that fairly.
VOTE TWICE - the one you want off the most and the one you want off almost as much.

I can't vote any longer.... NOOOO! Surely, you can help bring it down further. Just, excuse yourself from an album or something. Right now, our best-of Radiohead CD is a quadruple album. As much as I'd like to believe Radiohead is that good, I don't think any band is.

You know what? We need to start making mean and nasty comments about these songs as we vote them off. For example:
My Iron Lung is about to breathe its last breath.
Just - Don't blame me. The song did it to itself, and that's why it really hurts.
Let Down - You shall be crushed like a bug in the ground.
No Surprises - Take a handshake of carbon monoxide.
Motion Picture Soundtrack - Too bad the film was a flop.
Optimistic - Looks like your glass is half empty.
Pull/Pulk Revolving Doors - Go fall into one of those trap doors that you can't come back from.
Dollars & Cents - There are better songs to talk about. Be constructive.
Sail to the Moon - I liked you better as "Pyramid Song".
A Punchup at a Wedding - You had to ruin it for everyone.
NP: "Knives Out", Radiohead

Other than some PH songs, I think MPS is the weakest on the list, but I think it's very pretty in that solemn way and a good closer to Radiohead's second (and latest up to this point) masterpiece. I think I'm going to go take some sleeping pills.

NOTE: I'M VOTING, BUT DON'T STONE ME IF IT LOOKS LIKE I'M PICKING NAMES OUT OF A HAT. THIS IS ALREADY HARD AS IT IS. Baby Bend - PLANET TELEX, MY IRON LUNG (BITCH IS NOT A NICE X-TIAN WORD) OK 'Puter- AIRBAG (ZIKE!)... for real now... LUCKY, CLIMBING UP THE WALLS Kid O - MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK (I'm not touched by it), KID A (love you) Amnesty - I MIGHT BE WRONG (Indeed), LIFE IN A GLASSHOUSE (I think) HoTT - A PUNCHUP AT A WEDDING, MYXOMATOSIS (Meh) ---------------- There.......... happy? ALso... to all who voted "DOLLARS & CENTS," "LET DOWN," and "FAKE PLASTIC TREES," you're definitely on narcotics.

As it stands:
Pablo Honey Stop Whispering 1 Ripcord 1
The Bends Nice Dream 3 Fake Plastic Trees 1 Planet Telex 3 My Iron Lung 2 Just 1
OK Computer Subterranean Homesick Alien 2 Let Down 2 No Surprises 1 The Tourist 2 Exit Music 1 Lucky 1 Climbing Up the Walls 1
Kid A Motion Picture Soundtrack 4 Optimistic 2 Kid A 4
Amnesiac Pull/Pulk 2 Dollars & Cents 2 Life in a Glasshouse 2 I Might Be Wrong 1 Knives Out 1
Hail to the Thief Sit Down, Stand Up 1 The Gloaming 1 Backdrifts 2 Go To Sleep 1 Sail to the Moon 2 A Punchup at a Wedding 2 Myxomatosis 1
Get your votes in soon. I'm going to have to do something about getting some tiebreakers in here, so that's probably what the next round will focus on, with slightly different rules (in other words, nothing eliminated until we figure out what we don't want on the list the most as a group, being that there are ties in every album but Kid A).

Hey... I liked "Nice Dream". (Maybe it's a subliminal thing because it rhymes with "Ice Cream", which reminds me, why hasn't Weird Al parodied Radiohead?.) Go figure that y'all would vote it off.
BTW, did I ever mention that the first time I head John Mayer, it wasn't one of his radio hits? It was a live acoustic cover of "Kid A" that I downloaded while scavenging for Radiohead covers. Don't ask me how he did it... but it actually worked.
If I had to be the one to break these ties, here's what I would boot:
Planet Telex (b/c I like "Nice Dream", as mentioned above)
Let Down (though "Alien" will probably go next)
Motion Picture Soundtrack (no contest, "Kid A" is way better!)
Life in a Glasshouse (I realized yesterday that this song actually kind of annoys me. Funny that I keep coming up with other things on Amnesiac to vote for instead of "Knives Out", which was initially my least favorite song due to the lyrics.)
Sail to the Moon (too close to the name of an Anime series for comfort)

Sail to the Moon (too close to the name of an Anime series for comfort) haha...that's too funny. I had a good friend who was a Sailor Moon nut. He was frightening. Man, Life in a Glasshouse is one of my favorites, but it is an oddball. It sounds kind of New Orleans-flavored, you know (of the instruments I play, I'm also best at trumpet, so I appreciate it from that angle...Littleton is very good).

If he can't parody a full song, I think he should put out an "Esoteric Art-Rock Polka" at some point. Don't you think it'd be great to hear a few lines from "Paranoid Android" delivered over a perky bed of accordions? That would be cool. I think the "you don't remember" section from Paranoid Andorid would work great in a polka. He could also do some Sigur Ross. That would be interesting.

It's funnier when most of the audience knows what he is parodying, so I'm not sure that he'll ever do Radiohead...they aren't exactly a radio band. Also, do most Weird Al fans know what "esoteric" means?

An opinion doesn't count for squat if you dismiss a 6 min 30 sec song based on two lines of its lyrics (that aren't even particularly bad if you decidedly to check context once), and it looks even worse when you dismiss a 6 album band based on the same. It shows a certain amount of ignorance in terms of what you are talking about, and that isn't even argueable. I don't mind you killing your credibility in musical opinion little by little, that's up to you.

I don't mind you killing your credibility in musical opinion little by little, that's up to you. *sigh* Here we go again... I do not dismiss "Paranoid Android" just because of that much-quoted lyric. In fact, "PA" is the best Raiohead song that I've heard. I just use those lyrics to tease the phanboys about how weird Rh is. =) I'm not "dismissing" Rh, just saying that they do not appeal to me. And yet you keep implying that I need to have listened to every Cd, and know at least several lyrics from them, in order to know that they do not appeal to me. I have listened to two Cd's, OKC and KidA. Isn't that enough? Or do you require me to spend hours of my time refining my dislike with the other 4 cd's?

They aren't that weird, but whatever. You've given two CDs a run...I expect you to go no further (although, knowing what you like, you might actually find you like "The Bends" ok). I just think the "unborn chicken voices" thing is getting tired from you, that's all. It was funny the first 50 times.
For the record, I've listened to "Hybrid Theory", "Reanimation", and "Meteora" at least two times a piece. I personally feel responsible to understand why I dislike something, but I shouldn't expect that of everybody, so you're right.

You don't have to listen to every band, just Radiohead, U2, and R.E.M. I like to know what I'm judging very well before I make my decisions, and I think it wise that others would do the same. But, this thread has now run its course. Please direct all voting towards the newest best of Radiohead thread. Closed.
