I am trying to copy, paste, and crop an image in Paint but I keep ending up with a lot of extra white space.  There has to be a quicker, easier way to fix this than what I am doing.  Can someone please enlighten me?  I'm not sure how I got to be this Paint/computer-illiterate.   blink

use the selection tool (rectangular thingy) to select the area you want, click Image in the menu bar, Crop.

I don't see "Crop" anywhere.

Somehow it suddenly cooperated anyway!  This time.   ph34r

Suggestions for future reference still welcome!  Now, can someone please tell me what size an avatar should be?  Please and thank you!

hmm...maybe your version of Paint is older than mine and doesn't have Crop. you could grab the border of the canvas at the blue dots and drag to resize it.

I recommend paint.net. it's more powerful than Paint, and it's free.

avatars here can be 150x150 pixels. other sites have different limitations. I think 100x100 is a good general-purpose size.

Looks like a photo-negative of a Tarsier, which is one of the most bizarre-looking creatures out there.

I think they're kind of cute.  This is a tribute to an avatar I once had.   happy
