There are a ton of these for me and I think this year I'm going to go back and cover some of them instead of listening primarily to new music.  Starting things off with Neurosis and will maybe do Nirvana next.

First Neurosis album was not very good but the next is way better.  Still, they're not known for this sound so I'm eager to make it to the meat of their discog.

I've been doing something similar in a more structured way with the "Respect the Classics: [Current Year - 20] Edition" threads.

Well, there's one thread, but I'll do one for '92 soon.

I guess it depends on your parameters for popular. In its genre? definitely, but if you're talking about generally popular then no. That's how I was interpreting things.

I just mean anyone with a well established discography that is an essential of a certain circle.  I guess.
