If we could find someone who has the hard disk space, the time, and most importantly, the bandwith, we could have a high quality radio station playing good music selected and submitted by Base members!

Alas, I have none of these things, but I agree that it would be very cool if someone could set it up for us!

Here are some recent records I've been playing, along with songs that would be especially radio-worthy:

Derek Webb- She Must and Shall Go Free ("Nobody Loves Me," "Lover")
Radiohead- Hail to the Thief ("2+2=5," "Sail to the Moon," "Myxamatosis")
Switchfoot- The Beautiful Letdown ("Gone," "Meant to Live," "24")
Daniel Lanois- Shine ("Shine," "Falling at Your Feet")
Joseph Arthur- the ones I mentioned in the other thread
Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot ("Kamera," "Ashes of American Flags")

Oh yeah, "Wedding Dress" is cool, too. And the title song, while we're at it... in fact, that CD is full of killer songs. It's really going to last.

I'm not sure which I enjoy more: Derek Webb or Jospeh Arthur.

Joseph Arthur's disc was my favorite release from last year, and Webb's is currently my favorite from this year. They're definitely two exciting new talents; nice to see some newcomers with so much talent, since Dylan, Gabriel, and Phillips won't be around forever.  Wink

YOUR GETTING OFF TOPIC!  TIME TO LOCK THE THREAD AND BAN YOU!  J/K, lol.  laugh Anyways, I have a bunch of albums on my "to buy" list, its going to take me a while to get to Derek Webb, I think.  Of course, if I find a deal, I can bump him up to the top Wink .  I like Derek Webb's songs on Caedmon's Call's 40 Acres, but I have heard that his solo album is twangier stuff, which I'm not a huge fan of.  Its always worth checking these things out, though.  To get back on topic, does anyone know if there is some kind of online radio where you can upload songs to a online radio service, and they will broadcast them for you?  That would work great, if there were such a thing.

This is a good question.  Is it legal for us to send him MP3's for a radio station?  It seems like this is true sharing, not stealing, and would only increase the exposure the artists get, the same way real radio does.  I would have no problem with it, myself.

Emericana's signature has a banner for a Donnie Darko site, which I assume Big Bird noticed for the first time in this thread.  rolleyes
