Some of you might be wondering me what prompted me to change my avatar from Miles Davis to Jennifer Garner, especially so soon after retiring Fozzy Bear.
Well... my reason is this:
ALIAS RETURNS NEXT SUNDAY NIGHT FOR SEASON THREE! HALLELUJAH!

Alias is an exhilirating spy drama with real characters (not caricatures or stereotypes) and great writing, both of which are all too rare on television. Just about every show is packed with plot twists that never fail to throw me for a loop; the writers behind this show can play the audience like a fine-tuned piano.
And the acting is first-rate. Garner, Garber, and Olin all got Emmy nods, and all three earned it. Their performances are better than those you'll find in most films. Much less TV shows.
And...and... Jennifer Garner's in it!

i am skeptical about this season's writing . . .
it started to slide last year and i fear that this year will simply get worse . . .
i hope not though . . .

Yes. The last few episodes of Season 2 were sub-par compared to Season 1. The plot began to become too farfetched and the characters began to turn into stereotypes. But I have faith that this season will once again be brilliant. That curveball they threw at the end of the season finale was annoying at the time, but I think it'll pay off when the new season starts.

So, Alias phans, what did you think?
SPOILERS ahead.
I liked it a bunch. There were a couple of things I wish they had done differently, but I liked it a bunch. This is going to be a thrilling season.
Two scenes in particular gave me chills:
1. The scene where Sydney visits Jack in prison. Victor Garber is an astounding actor.
2. The scene toward the end where Sydney blows up at Vaugh. Man, he so did not deserve that...
The thing with Sloane is...weird.
Marshall is as hilarious as ever. "I lost my keys..."
The ending was freaky.
My biggest complaint: WHERE THE HECK IS WILL TIPPIN?!?

Great episode. Despite a few minor quibbles, I think the show totally redeemed itself last night (not that it ever really got that bad...). The scene in the prison was one of the all-time great Alias moments.
This season is going to be amazing.

ALIAS RETURNS NEXT SUNDAY NIGHT FOR SEASON THREE! HALLELUJAH! i find it disturbing that you say "Hail/Praise/Laud Jehovah!" concerning something so insignificant (and i would guess that it is less than perfect concerning language/content etc., but i haven't seen it) as a TV show.

So we're only allowed to praise God for big things, but the small things we don't thank Him for? Wouldn't it be better to be praising constantly for all things?

And, if I may be so bold... since you apprently frown upon all coarse language, violence, and sexuality, I take it that you never read the Bible, which is full of such things?

I just got Season 1 of Alias last week. I watched the first four episodes, and they were good. Not too heavy, but it's cool. And Garner looks really good in bright red clown hair.

I just got to the part when Syd's father explains who her mother really is. Mindblowing. The mid-season eps are far better than the beginning ones.

The entire first season is pure magic. They haven't been able to recapture that, unfortunately, though they've been ocming close.

Well, I don't know about you other Alias fans, but I thought last night's episode was disappointing. More specifically, it was dull.
Jack is still cool, but Sloan's new role just isn't very interesting. Sydney's quests are becoming more and more selfish and irrelevant. Vaughn never gets any good lines or scenes anymore, and his wife is annoying. I miss Will Tippin. The obligatory Garner cleavage was more revealing last night then it has ever been before. Dixon is boring. And, above all,... I MISS SPY MOMMY!
