Ha-do-ken!  (lock our little dilemma)

We have successfully, kind of, done the eliminations.  I wish we got Andree's vote in, but alas, he didn't get to it in time and this needs to keep moving.  Here's the eliminated:

Pablo Honey
Everything but Creep, Anyone Can Play Guitar, Lurgee, and Blow Out.  I decided to arbitrate it seeing as I was the only one voting.  You won't vote on these until we pool all of them at the end, but try to d/l these four between now and then so you'll know what you're voting for.

The Bends
Nice Dream
Planet Telex

OK Computer
Subterranean Homesick Alien
The Tourist

Kid A
Kid A

Amnesiac
Life in a Glasshouse
Pull/Pulk

Hail to the Thief
Sail to the Moon
Backdrifts

OK, now a moment of silence for a kleenex and sniffles break...

OK, we're back.  Submitted for your approval (or disapproval), the remaining tracks

The Bends 6 tracks
The Bends
High and Dry
Fake Plastic Trees
Just
My Iron Lung
Street Spirit

OK Computer 7 tracks
Airbag
Paranoid Android
Exit Music (for a film)
Let Down
Karma Police
Climbing Up the Walls
No Surprises

Kid A 7 tracks
Everything In Its Right Place
The National Anthem
How to Disappear Completely
Optimistic
Idioteque
Morning Bell
Motion Picture Soundtrack

Amnesiac 7 tracks
Pact Like Sardines...
Pyramid Song
You and Whose Army?
I Might Be Wrong
Knives Out
Dollars & Cents
Like Spinning Plates

Hail to the Thief 8 tracks
2+2=5
Sit Down Stand Up
Go To Sleep
Where I End and You Begin
The Gloaming
There There
A Punchup at a Wedding
Myxomatosis

In this round, choose two as normal and we'll get each of these down to 4 tracks in the next few rounds.  After that, it's one big pool...see what's going to happen.  "The Bends" will lose 1 track this time (limited immunity, if you will) and the others will lose 2.  I'm up for HTTT losing 3 if there are three that are clearly at the bottom.  Otherwise, it will lose 2 this round as well.

I hope everyone votes on this one.  Even if you don't know a particular album, remember that you can always leave it out.

*edit*
I need to add that you need to tell me which is your first choice.  In its absence, I will assume the first to appear is it.  Looks like Josh did that, which is good.  It helps to find some common ground and makes eliminating easier.

NOOOOOOOOOO!

A best-of RH album is NOT complete without "High & Dry" and "Fake Plastic Trees."  I don't think I'm liking this.

My choices:

The Bends
-The Bends
-My Iron Lung

OK Computer
-Climbing Up The Walls
(that's it! - no more voting on this album)

Kid A
-Optimistic
-Morning Bell

Amnesiac
-You & Whose Army?
-I Might Be Wrong
(always wanted these two off, especially IMBW)

Hail To The Thief
Myxomatosis
The Gloaming

THERE!

"Let Down" leaving BEFORE "Climbing Up The Walls"?  That makes absolutely NO sense to me.

*(leaves thread feeling indignant)*

Peace out,

"Climbing Up the Walls" is awesome! "Let Down" is merely good.

Hey, this is my revenge for all of the anti-love toward "Electioneering" for all of these years. I'm here to screw up the OK Computer curve.

If it were up to me, CUTW would make the final cut and LD wouldn't.  LD is a great song, but CUTW has the advantage for me.  It's very out-there, wild, experimental - everything I like about Radiohead and at times my favorite on all of OKC.

I don't think either of them will make it, though.

That would mean that you should vote for something else from that album so that "Exit Music" has a chance to stay.

Just pick the two you like the least out of the remaining songs from that album. That'll keep the game going.

I feel the same way you do.  My picks are almost arbitrary for OKC, I like all the songs so much.

I like Fitter Happier.

It's a cool transitional track.

I like it too, but no way it's gonna make the list of Radiohead's best songs.

"Fitter Happier" is the album's masterstroke. I like the way the instruements in the background slowly give away to computerized noise.

I think the album's masterstroke is the 3-part "Paranoid Android", or "Climbing Up the Walls" (basically what a volcanic eruption over a populated country would sound like if it were music), but it doesn't look like the latter is going to spend much longer here.

OKC is one of those albums that I can truly say every song is very good to brilliant anyway.

Incidentally, I just heard that Nelly will be doing a remix of one of Radiohead's hit singles. His version will be called "Therre Therre".

I didn't mean that "Fitter Happier" was the best or most brilliant song on the album. I just meant that it kind of ties everything together, in my opinion, and, in some ways, it's one of the album's most essential songs.

Ha! That was funny. A lot of my friends are rap fans, so I find that to be amusing.

Whoever thinks that misspelling words in hip-hop songs is amusing is sorely lacking in a sense of humor.

I'm guessing you don't like Prince's goofy things with spelling i.e. "I M N 2 U Ms. Thang" (I made that up, but stuff like that)

yeah, i recongize its importance and place on the album and that it underscores all the other songs. i just usually don't listen to it.  unsure
