As some of you are probably aware, my brother Mark (yes, the same Mark that pretends to be associated with this site ^_^) broke his collarbone at soccer practice yesterday. Assuming he can use the computer (I've never broken anything myself, so I don't know what the limitations are) I'm sure he'll tell us about it at some point. But I thought I'd mention it and request prayer now.
Thanks

Keep us posted, Vlad! Since I have an aversion to social gatherings and a distaste for spending time with school chums, I'm usually out of the loop when it comes to this kind of thing...

Ok, well, he broke it playing soccer, which is all I know, but given his position he was probably diving for a ball and hit with his shoulder. He seems to be dong OK, though he can't drive. He's watching the team play today and trying to encourage them, so it doesn't sound like he's in too much pain or anything.

Ow, I know what it feels like to break something. Seems that the collarbone might be a little more painful and hard to live with than my little broken wrist back in `99. Will pray for the dude.

Hey. Thank you guys for all the encouraging words and such.
Yes, as Vlad rightly called it, I was playing soccer and diving for a ball. I dove for a shot, which was rather high. As I dove I realized the post was rather clost to me (the ball also hit the post) so I shifted my weight so as not to crash into the post. But that left me no room to land like I usually do, and I landed right on my left shoulder (if that makes sense) and heard a crunch right away. I knew I had broken something. Right now I am in a lot of pain... But I am on some good drugs... they make me sleep more than anything else. I haven't slept this much since I got my wisdom teeth out.
I'm in a shoulder brace that I have to keep on 23 hours a day and a sling that I can take off to type and such... but should have on for most of the time.
The hardest thing is watching my team play without me. We're a team plagued with injuries... I'm the third person to be in a sling this year (I guess it's a fashion statement or something) and we're struggling as a team. But today, in our tournament, the back-up keeper did really well. They tied one, 0-0, and lost another 1-0... so I'm really proud of them. But I still wish with all my being that I could be out there playing with them.
Keep praying. thank you guys a lot. That means so much to me.
-Mark

Man, that sounds bad. I'm sorry it's so much pain. I hope you get better soon!
