Has anyone read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michale Chabon?  I just finished it last night, and all I have to say is wow.
WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!
The book is about two Jewish cousins who create a comic book character in the 1930s.  The book follows the character and the creators through the mid-1950s.  It sheds a lot fo light on the Golden Age of comics, but the books also has a great story involving the war, love, revenge, escape artists, a naval post in the Antartic, the World's Fair, the birth of suburbia, and much more.  it si a fantastic book with great characters that you will quickly grow to love.  I loved the way that Chabon intertwined the lives of the creators with the lives of the chracters, history with fiction, and the past, present, and future to make an extremely compelling novel that feels like a biography of two American greats. I highly recommend this book.
