Aretha Franklin is So Damn Happy. Dave Matthews is So Damn Lucky. Nickelback is Feeling Way Too Damn Good.
Is it just me, or am I detecting a new trend in song and album titles here?

I would never think you would be able to link Aretha Franklin, Dave Matthews, and Nickelback, but here we are.

Who is Scarlet O'Hara? A character from Gone With the Wind, a work that we all figured you would be pretty familiar with since you referenced it in your last post.

I really don't give a damn. Helloooo people. What he said is merely a sort of vulgar expression. What Rhett (or whatever his name was) said to Scarlett was "Frankly dear, I don't give a damn." Thank you. Skraps

One is correct, the other is not B) Thank you. Or if you were watching My Fair Lady, it would be "damn, damn, damn, damn" or something. Did you know that the people that made Gone w/ t/ Wind had to actually pay money to have "damn" in their movie? Skraps

To be perfectly correct the "Gone With The Wind" quote is: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Don't mean to be anal, but if we are going to quote a novel/movie that has ahd such an impact on our culture, let's at least get it right.

I noticed that too, but I didn't think it worth mentioning. Maybe it was, given how anal-retentive we got about the initial mangling.
Lest some think that I am assuming airs that I am not due, I will issue the disclaimer that I have not actually read Gone With the Wind, but only seen the movie (the one with Clark Gable). I know, I'm such a fraud.

since you mentioned clark gable... can i vent a little about how ugly the guy is? i'll never understand how he was such a heartthrob in his day. do any other ladies on the board here actually think the guy was the least bit attractive? clark gable always seems to get thrown into the cary grant, rock hudson etc. handsome actor group, and i've never understood it.
and didn't he also have fake teeth? that makes him even less charming.

He fought in World War $rand(1-2), so that makes him cool. Standards for beauty and handsomness change, so maybe he was hot stuff back in "the day" (Thursday).

Yeah, people's idea of "handsome" changes. I mean, can you see a southern belle in hoop skirts drolling over a blonde kid with spiked hair and super-baggy jeans? heh.

I hate the word fags, period. It's sooo derogatory. Like the word bitch, when applied to a woman.

You guys know what "fag" literally means, right?
It's funny... sometimes I see the term "faq" in lowercase on a website, and I think it says "fag".

A fag is a cigarrette and a faggot is a bundle of wood.
But when used in reference to gays is wrong. I hate that word. It is *really* derrogatory and offensive. I hate it when people use it that way (people normally don't use it to refer to cigarrettes or bundles of wood).
I also hate it when people refer to something stupid as "gay". I agree, it's really bad, and it makes me even more upset when Christians do it (either use the word fag in an unedifying fashion or use gay in the aforementioned fashion). We should know better.

How do people ever get the idea to use a random word that means a cigarette or a bundle of sticks as a derogatory term, anyway? Oh, and you should have been there when I started a thread at CMCentral entitled "Steven Curtis Chapman is Gay." I meant it in entirely the literal sense, but of course no one got it, and what I didn't realize at the time was that the most recent thread titles show up on CMCentral's front page!
