I just finished watching a bunch of music videos on launch.com. I've never been a big video person, because my impression of them has been ruined by commercial pop and hip-hop videos. But, after watching some videos from Radiohead, Sigur Ros, The White Stripes, Interpol, Damien Rice, and others, I think they are actually a cool thing. My favorite video would have to have been either Radiohead's "Just" or "Go to Sleep." Have any of you seen these? What did you think of "Just"? What the heck did that guy say? The award for the most annoying video goes to the White Stripes "Seven Nation Army." Yikes. And the most disturbing video award would have to go to Sigur Ros's Untitled #1. So, I suppose videos can be cool, after all. B)

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.

I'm not a big fan of videos, but the REM has the best ones, hands down. Just look at "Bad Day" and "Losing My Religion." Bloody brilliant videos.

"Just" is a classic Radiohead video. "Go to Sleep" is a really cool video...very subdued colors.
"Seven Nation Army"...just a little nutty, but I like the video anyway. It makes me ill.
Some of my favorite videos (limiting to one for a given artist):
"Tonight Tonight" by The Smashing Pumpkins Did the cheesy 20s film thing to brilliant effect.
"Closer" by Nine Inch Nails controversial, but very well done in terms of the ways they tormented the film, all in sepia tone.
"One" by U2 the "One" where the band is dressed as women. Love it.
"Buddy Holly" by Weezer Integrated with Happy Days stuff, so I like it. So much fun.
"Jeremy" by Pearl Jam
"Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana and I'm not even that big a fan of Nirvana
"Find" by Tribe Called Quest
"Free as a Bird" by The Beatles it's a video done for the anthology.
"Coffee and TV" by Blur Milk cartons can be emotive
"Let Forever Be" by The Chemical Brothers The simple SFX work
"Praise You" by Fatboy Slim hilarity ensues
"Christmas at the Zoo" by The Flaming Lips
"Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel Fruity
"Everything is Everything" by Lauryn Hill I had the feeling that Manhattan is just a giant record.
"Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai conveyor belts?
"Frozen" by Madonna Madonna's weirding way...the change into the birds makes the entire video worth it
"Otherside" by Red Hot Chilli Peppers not a big fan of theirs, but this is well done
Oh, and for a new video, check out "Hey Ya" by OutKast (Andre 3000). I haven't had that much fun with a video in a long time.

Bloop, great call on "Sledgehammer," one of the best videos of all time.
U2's "Beautiful Day" video is pretty cool.

]_[ I guess I should have clarified: yes, that is the launch.com top ten. I'm sorry to all you who thought what little taste in music I had just went down the drain But the juxtaposition between Stacie and R. Kelly and Linkin Park boggles the mind...which is what I was TRYING to say

There's some great videos I forgot, and they really need mentioning.
"Take On Me" by A-ha blends pencillings and reality. You probably know the "looking glass" scene that rotates around the guy and the girl.
"Losing My Religion" by REM I second Josh on this one. Every video I've seen by REM, I've liked. I can't say the same for even Radiohead, my favorite band.

As is "Buddy Holly" by Weezer Integrated with Happy Days stuff, so I like it. So much fun. I also like Weezer's video for Keep On Fishing where they play with the Muppets. More recent favorites fo mine include Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and Fountain's of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom."(I love the homage to "Fast Times At Ridgemont High)

REM's "Everybody Hurts" is one of my all-time favorite videos. And add me to the list of "Losing My Religion" lovers.

I finally saw the "Numb" video last night. It was pretty cool. I didn't like the whole girl being all socially rejected part, but the LP singing in that big ol' church was pretty cool.

This isn't on launch.com, but the Sum 41 video for Still Waiting is funny, not because the song is all that great (though it's catchy ), but because it's funny and it pokes fun at some other bands. Check it out.
