I thought we could all put our wish lists up here, so others can get an idea of what we are all into. Maybe you can give out subtle pointers to people, such as "NO, FOR THE SAKE OF GOD DON'T BUY THAT ALBUM!" Stuff like that. Anyways, here is my wishlist, which is from amazon.com: My Wish ListBTW, I just used the Amazon list for convenience, I don't mean for you to buy me anything with it, even though it is a registry thing. =D

Yeah, I noticed the common items as well. And mine is shorter, but if you take out all the Willie Nelson and U2 singles and rare stuff, its a whole lot closer.

Hehe... well, if you're following my suggestions, then rest assured that it's all good music you're getting into Frighteningly, I can only think of one album that I want right now: Bob Dylan's new live recording (well, it was from a 1975 concert, but it's only been released this year).

Only one album! Wow. BTW, you can view my list from the link earlier in the thread, to see what I'm getting. Just curiuos, about how often do you buy CDs? Once a week? Once a month? Because it sounds like you have quite a collection.

I usually only buy new music about twice a month, but I buy 3 or 4 CDs at a time. I get almost all of them at a used bookstore for about 8 dollars a pop.
My collection is around 200, but I sell the ones I dislike, so I've owned much more than that in my lifetime...

A few comments on your list, DV:
Stereotype Be- Kevin Max You'll almost certainly like this one. I'm still skeptical about a few of the songs, but almost EVERYONE at this board LOVES that CD, so, odds are, you will too. I'd give it 4 stars out of 5.
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot- Wilco Challenging, confusing, and really weird, this one is right up my alley. Good luck sorting through some of the enigmatic lyrics! 5 stars.
Automatic for the People- REM My third favorite from REM, and one of my Top 15 of all time. It's got a lot of dark musings about death and mortality, but it's amazingly fun to listen to. 4.5 stars, maybe 5...
Good Dog Bad Dog- Over the Rhine One of the most beautiful recordings you'll ever hear. 5 stars, easily. I'd give it 10 if I could. Breaks my heart every time I listen.
A Rush of Blood to the Head- Coldplay I wouldn't reccomend this one, but there are lots of Coldplay fans here, so I'm in the minority. 3 stars.
Kid A- Radiohead A masterpiece of imagination, and it tells a great story, to boot! 5 stars, and a Top 10 favorite of mine.
The Joshua Tree, ATYCLB, Achtung Baby- U2 My three favorite CDs of all time. 15 stars total. =)

I think downloading albums and keeping them is wrong, though I have been known to download a song and listen to it a couple times, then delete it.

R.E.M., Automatic for the People Downhere, Downhere Kevin Max, Stereotype B And with the BMG Sound and Spirit music club, when I buy one more regularly priced CD from them, I get 4 more free ones. Seems like a good deal. BTW, its fine if you call me Dv, other online people do to.

I just deleted quite a few items from my wish list (and naturally added several): Foo Fighters: There is Nothing Left to Lose (cool, to-the-point, fun, groovy pop-punky rock) Foo Fighters: One by One (see above) Bruce Springsteen: Tunnel of Love (It's Springsteen - duh.) Steven Deloupolos: Me Died Blue (Haven't listened past the first three yet--they sounded good to me, not exactly sure what everyone is jumping for joy over yet, but then again I haven't listened very far.) Oasis: (What's the Story) Morning Glory (I like them better than the Beatles, actually--blasphemous, I know.)
I also listened to several tracks from Hail to the Thief... and can't figure for the life of me what you guys see in them. Whatever floats your boat and lets you sail to the moon, I suppose, though.

I've heard most things that I want a hardcopy of. I know it's illegal and so forth, but I need the "try before buy" system. As it is, I keep a list of things I intend to buy and delete it when I do. Some things that I like that need purchasing to ease my guilt:
Beatles stuff - kind of low priority as I have all their later stuff at this point.
REM Green Up New Adventures in High Fi
The Flaming Lips Zaireeka (anyone want a party?) Transmissions from the Satellite Heart Hit to Death in the Future Head
Pavement Slanted and Enchanted (deluxe)
Sonic Youth lots of stuff - mainly want the rerelease of "Daydream Nation". "Washing Machine" has my favorite song by them - "The Diamond Sea".
Wilco Summerteeth
Oh, and I want to buy some Starflyer 59 and Over the Rhine CDs, but I think I'll just wait for OTR's new one. I don't have a lot of $ right now.

Good call. Fine albums all. In fact, New Adventures beats out Automatic as my second favorite by them, after Reveal. Yeah, I'm an unorthodox REM fan, I know...

haha...just kidding. They aren't for everybody. I thought we covered this. Yeah, pretty much. That was mostly to annoy Josh. I do enjoy "2+2=5," "A Punchup at a Wedding," and "Sail to the Moon." I like half of "Sit Down Stand Up," but the last two minutes of the song grate on my nerves.

Glad you like Martinis... I enjoy that one, though Fan Dance is a million times better, in my opinion. It's more personal and poetic, and also more mysterious.
So is one of my all-time favorites. I enjoy every song on it, though "Don't Give Up" is kind of empty. "Red Rain," "Mercy Street," and "In Your Eyes" are three of the coolest songs ever recorded.
Which ones sound too 80s for you?
