No. I still have a few songs from their old albums on my mix CDs that I still enjoy (The Message and The Ride being my favorite albums of theirs.)

The Message is definitely my favorite album by them.

That's dropped to the dollar bin already?  I wonder why.  I like that album a lot too - it was my #9 album of last year.

Yeah, it was two bucks. I was surprised to see it there, too.

They also had the most recent albums by Sara Groves and Phillip LaRue for two dollars also. I was tempted to pick them up, but decided I'll just get them if they're still there next time.

Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water

A perfect album.  The songwriting of Paul Simon with the great voice of Art Garfunkel is genius.

Fleetwood Mac - The Dance

I love Stevie Nicks.  what a voice!

Iona - Live in London: US Tour Edition

Audio from their live DVD, since many American fans had requested it when they announced they were going to be selling special merchandise on this tour and wanted to know what kind of stuff we wanted from them.

Various Artists - Twistable, Turnable Man: A Musical Tribute To The Songs Of Shel Silverstein

I had no idea this even existed until I got it as a Father's Day gift. I also had no idea how many old-timey country songs Silverstein penned back in the day: "A Boy Named Sue," "The Cover of the Rolling Stone" and "Sylvia's Mother" are Silverstein tunes covered here.

Most the songs have a definite Americana/Old Time Country vibe, and contributors include My Morning Jacket, Andrew Bird, Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams and Nanci Griffith.

I like it.

If you guys haven't listened to Mumford and Sons yet, I think it's something a lot of you would like. Very folksy, but very dramatic at the same time with a very non-CCM approach to wrestling with spiritual issues.

I've really been digging it a lot. The bluegrass feel really keeps the energy and momentum going, and the aren't afraid to mix in a little electric guitar at times.

That is pretty cool! That's quite a long streak for an album to have in the dollar bin.

I always check the record itself to see what it looks like.  Some still get through that play poorly or not at all, but it's at least some line of defense.

Yeah, I do usually take a look at them to see how scratched they are if I'm paying anything significant for them. When they're in the discount bin I don't care as much because I figure I can do something with the one's that are too scratched to play. I may hang them on my wall or something.

Yeah, it really is.  Having a hard time deciding which is better, the new Roots or Big Boi.

Pretty much every song came up and I was like, "this is my new jam," and then the next song would play...and I would have to change my mind.  what a fun album.

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead

Great album!

I just picked up Norma Jean's newest album, Meridonial. Just as I thought I would probably never buy another album by them, they go and put out this fantastic album!

Indeed it is. I found it for $4 and couldn't pass it up, as it's usually around $8-$10 used.

Paper Route - Absence

Someone was selling it in Very Good condition for $.98. I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad that its former owner so drastically underestimated its value. With shipping, one of the best albums of '09 cost me a whopping four bucks.

Was that from Amazon? I was browsing through my wish list on there and remember seeing it pretty cheap used.

Almost forgot, I just received Thrice's If Only We Could See Us Now CD/DVD from Amazon. I should have Identity Crisis and Red Sky EP on the way, as well. I'm trying to complete my Thrice collection.

I'm excited to give it a listen. "All Is Full Of Love" is the only song that I know I'm familiar with from it. I've always been somewhat of a fan of hers, but never a big enough fan to play full price for an album. Maybe that'll change after I spend some time with this one.

"All Is Full of Love" is one of my least favorite songs from that album (and it's still a good song). The first four on Homogenic are the powerhouses for me. It reminds me of how The Joshua Tree is good all the way through, but the first four tracks kind of overshadow everything else for me. "Bachelorette" is one of my Top 5 Bjork songs. And I've gushed about its music video elsewhere.
