...I'm starting to enjoy country music.

Not the chessy country that you hear on the radio. I ain't talking Faith Hill or Garth Brooks.

I'm talking... Emmylou Harris. And Johnny Cash. And Lucinda Williams. I downloaded some songs from those pholks today, and I'm digging them.

Am I a bad person?

Mmmm. I believe Schileriana is a Julie Miller fan. I'll have to give her a listen.

NO!  Lets hope those artists you mentioned are nothing like I hear on the radio, or I'm afraid you're in trouble.

Nah, they're not. Like I said, I hate the pop country that they play on the radio. I'm talking about the real, backporch roots stuff.

LOL!  That's so funny you say that because I've been meaning to ask you why you don't like some country music if Over the Rhine resembles country music at times.

That cracks me up.

Yeah, OtR does throw in some country from time to time, especially on Ohio. Maybe that's why David doesn't like that one as much...?

I have a bunch of music by Julie Miller and a few songs by Julie and Buddy. let me know if you have difficulty finding their music; I could burn an mp3 cd for you or something.

I have always claimed to hate country music but I will admit that in My Music, I have a small folder for Lee Ann Womack (who has recorded several of Julie Miller's songs) and another (even smaller) folder for Martina or Shania stuff. am I a bad person?

now I'm starting to get into jazz and a cappella, mainly a cappella jazz (and classical) by the Swingle Singers. I never thought I'd like jazz or the sort of a cappella that imitates instruments but hey, what can I say, the group is talented.

World Without Tears and The Man Comes Around might make my year-end list.

Good calls.

Peace out,

Based on the two songs I've heard, World Without Tears might make my list, as well.

And is Man Comes Around a 2003 recording? Huh. I didn't realize that. I thought it was a year or two old...
