I love the album, but not because of Jeff "ooooh, what a voice" Buckley.  The band he played with on it is very tight, and the alterna/classic rock feel of the album is amazing.

Everybody says that his voice makes the album, when in reality the lyrics and the great musicianship are what do it for me.

Peace out,
Andree

oh, I love his voice...but I definitely don't think that it's just his voice that makes the album. The lyrics & band are amazing as well.

Heh... that's really funny. I actually like the album almost entirely because of his voice, and, on some songs, the lyrics. The band is indeed great, but I think some songs are a little too cluttered. I wish he had lived long enough to make an album of sparse, simple songs, like "Hallelujah," the ultimate album highlight.

Well, I think the musicianship is very good as well, but Buckley's voice is the first, and most obvious, draw.

mmmmm, yeah, i love that album, and anything of his really. he was so talented, vocally, lyrically, everything. its tragic he died so young-- his life is pretty sad too. his dad, who OD'd on something or other when jeff was a kid, was a very promising folk singer/songwriter in the 60's, Tim Buckley-- people were calling him the next dylan. i think jeff is even more talented than his dad!
