Man... this makes three masterful, classic-in-the-making albums that will make it awfully difficult for me to pick the best album of the year. Emmylou Harris' new record, Stumble Into Grace, is stunningly gorgeous (yeah, that's right... I'm stealing your word, Skraps. Booyeah).

Does anyone else here love Emmylou? I've really been enjoying her work lately. Wrecking Ball is probably still my favorite, but this new one comes pretty close to equalling it. And it certainly surpasses Red Dirt Girl.

I'm not the kind of guy who sheds a lot of tears, but man-- several songs on this CD made me lose it as I was listening to it for the first time today. This is heartbreaking stuff. "I Will Dream" is one of the most affecting songs of lost love that I've heard in many moons, but the real showstopper is "Strong Hand," a tribute to the late June Carter Cash. And then there's "Here I Am," a plea from the Almighty to His wayward children... wow. This album is beautiful.

Hear it.

Emmylou is a living legend. I haven't heard the latest album yet, but I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Yes he has. His work with them was okay, but his work on this album is his finest hour so far.

I'm going to have to give this cd a listen. most of the songs I had heard from Emmylou were more countryish and I didn't really care for them. but I downloaded one song, "I Will Dream", and really like it a lot.

I think the words you're looking for might be "achingly beautiful", but I could be wrong. Has anyone got this cd, and is there a pub song from it so I can get a taste before I rush off and buy something that has "country" as a partial description?

"I Will Dream" isn't my favorite song on the album, but it's certainly up there. Absolutely heartbreaking.
