If so, then you might want to check out David's terrific review of her new album, Hotel Paper. Good stuff. The review, anyway; I'm not familiar with the CD.

I agreed with pretty much his whole assessment, although I probably would've given it two stars as I think it's actually a step down from The Spirit Room. I don't know, the interest just isn't there for me, I guess. Plus it's just not that good.

I haven't been that interested in her, because I always view young pop artists with a very cynical eye. Some of these people seem like they are designed to fill a certain niche. For example, Avril Lavigne seems like a carefully planned backlash against the Britney/Christina/whoever-else trend. There are certainly much better musicians out there than Lavigne, but do they get any recognition? No. I view Michelle Branh in the same way, but to be fair, I haven't heard many of her songs, so that might not be a correct judgement.

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

you really can't escape her music, even if you don't listen to the radio, is everwhere. i'm not a fan, but i do appreciate that she's a real musician and *gasp* writes and plays her music.

Smartash, above each of your posts there should be a button that says Edit, so you can fix 'em yourself if you feel so inclined. =)

that's *can't, not can.....and *even, not ever.....maybe vlad can fix that Josh: Why do it yourself when you can get the duck to do it for you? It's all good now, though I usually don't patrol this board. And in a feeble effort to be on-topic, I respect a singer (such as Branch) who writes his/her own music about what he/she thinks than someone who just plays what someone else writes... And speaking of Lavigne, my roommate was playing a song of hers (don't remember the name) where she was talking about how hard the world can be. Given that she's younger than either of us, we were joking around that maybe she wrote those lyrics herself after she was pushed down on the playground...

Oh, wow, this is one of the finest reviews I've read in a good while. Andree, if there were Oscars for reviews, I'd nominate this one for Best Performance by a Male Critic. Or something like that.

The review is OK. Kind-of a weird one.
Thanks for the love, though.
Peace out, Andree

Do her CDs list lyrics, and if so do they look something like:
You're everywhere-uh You're everywhere-uh
'Cuz you're everywhere to me-uh blah blah blah blah blah-uh
?
