Here is it: fresh off the press. The depressive after-love-song.

"These Tangled Wires"

Woke up this morning with your tears in my eyes
that you had found me lying here with no disguise
what will this do to us? will we recover soon?

these tangled wires laced with signals looped and crossed
jumbled reminders of the data that we lost
will we recover soon? is it too late to return?

will we figure it out? will we get to a good conclusion
will we know it's about getting back to the love and fusion.

Woke up this morning still uncertain how you feel
running in circles with my fingers on the wheel
is it too late to return? what would you say to me?

these mixed emotions lie unsorted on the floor
mountains and valleys. I've forgotten what they're for
what would you say to me? what will this do to us?

will it come to a head? will we get to a happy ending?
will we know if it's dead, or if it's windy and the tree is bending

a few sentences. i think you've changed your mind.
I don't dare to ask. i'm hesitant to find
that maybe it's gone for good. I didn't act when I could.

a few word from you, and I will leave this place
a bullet to the chest, a moment full of mace
that maybe it was never there. I didn't see what was there.

I only saw what I wanted to see,
So the butterflies are moths
and the happiness disease
I only knew what I wanted to know,
so the butterflies are moths
and the summer rain was snow

Woke up this morning to the setting of our day
blood-red spangled clouds enveloping in grey
I didn't mean this end. I didn't want a friend.
I didn't mean this end. I didn't mean this end.
I didn't mean this end. I didn't mean this end.
I didn't want this to end.

Yes I have actually. I wrote this before I had ever heard of the Shins, but it sounds a bit like the last song off "Chutes Too Narrow". Not very much. Just a bit.
